stand up
for the brick kiln workers
Hear the untold story of thousands suffering in modern day slavery
Just $1,000
$1,000 - the amount of money it takes to buy a new phone, designer handbag, a year’s worth of Netflix, or a few week’s worth of groceries - is the difference between freedom or slavery for Pakistan’s brick kiln workers. Every day of their lives is spent in agonizing heat with no safety equipment, forcing the workers, most of whom are children, to expose themselves to harmful emissions and debilitating respiratory diseases in order to pay back generational loans. They make about $1.50 a day and, depending on how much money they supposedly owe, will most likely spend the rest of their lives in these horrible and inhumane living conditions.
